    Bombay High Court

    Calcutta High Court

    The Calcutta High Court recently admonished a man who filed a writ petition against its sitting judges and their conduct in dealing with the cases filed by him.

    Chhattisgarh High Court

    The Chhattisgarh High Court last week directed “While examining the surety papers, the trial court shall necessarily obtain copy of the Aadhaar card of the accused as well as of the surety.” The Court issued the directives in view of the rampant submission of forged revenue documents and sureties in Trial Courts.

    Delhi High Court

    The Delhi High Court, on Wednesday, made it clear that patent working information is not “confidential” and has to be mandatorily submitted by all patentees.

    The High Court, on Thursday, upheld Constitutional validity of the second proviso to Section 5 (1) of Prevention of Money laundering Act, 2002 (PMLA), which empowers the Enforcement Directorate to provisionally attach the properties allegedly bought from proceeds of crime.

    Gujarat High Court

    The Gujarat High Court, on Tuesday, directed the State to ensure that schools which are affiliated with the state board implement the 25 per cent reservation for underprivileged children under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.

    Kerala High Court

    Kerala High Court, on Wednesday, disposed of its oldest case, which was 33 years old. The proceedings in the case, in fact, spanned over more than a century. The Appeal before the Court had assailed a judgment passed by the District Court, Ernakulam, which had declared that the proposed notified lands could not be declared as reserve forests under the Travancore Forest Act (Act II) of 1068. The notifications related to the proposed Alapra, Valiyakavu and Karikattoor Reserves.

    Madhya Pradesh High Court

    The Madhya Pradesh High Court pulled up the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for not providing proper medical care and attention to the affected persons of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy even after passage of over 33 years.
