Vacancies For The Post Of Law Clerk-Cum-Research Assistant At The Supreme Court

  • Extension of Time For Joining A Post Not A Matter Of Right: Supreme Court

    The recruitment cell of the Supreme Court has invited online applications for the post of Law Clerk-Cum-Research Assistant on a full time short term contractual basis on a fixed stipend of Rs. 65,000 per month. The contractual engagement shall commence from 1st July 2021 till the closure of the Supreme Court for Summer Vacations in 2022.

    The candidates shall be selected on the basis of a written test followed by final interview call. The candidates shortlisted for interview shall be three times of the actual recruitment in the order of merit.

    The applications can be submitted by way of online registration which shall commence from 1st February 2021. The last date of filling the online application is 28th February 2021.

    For the purpose of conducting written test, the notification states that the test will be conducted at four centres across India situated in Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Kolkata. The applicants are required to indicate their choice of Test Centre at which they wish to appear.

    ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    The candidates shall have the following qualifications in order to be selected for the recruitment:

    1. Must be a law graduate on the date of appearing in interview, having a degree recognized by the Bar Council of India. The candidate shall also be recognized by the BCI for enrolment as an Advocate.

    2. Fifth year law students are also eligible to apply subject to furnishing proof of acquiring Law qualification at the time of interview.

    3. Must have knowledge of computer including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/processes such as Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw etc.

    The notification mentions that the candidates must not be below the age of f 18 years and above 27 years as on the last date of receipt of applications.
