CLAT 2013: Revised First Provisional Allotment List released

The revised First Provisional Allotment list has been now published on the CLAT website. The first allocation list was earlier withdrawn owing to many reasons including “Doubts expressed by certain candidates regarding the order of their preferences for Universities and the subsequent allotment of seat”.

As first reported by Live Law, four candidates had earlier alleged that they were wrongly allotted Chanakya National Law University (CNLU), Patna instead of their preferred choice of National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NUALS), Cochin. The Kerala High Court yesterday issued notice to the CLAT Convenor on a Writ Petition filed by these four candidates seeking to quash the First Allocation List. Under the revised list, all these four candidates have been allotted NUALS.

Goof ups in CLAT have now become a norm every year. A Writ Petition is pending before the Delhi High Court seeking to establish a Permanent CLAT Body; rather than conducting CLAT on a rotation basis by participating National Law Universities every year.
