    The Inaugural Session of the Asia Pacific Commercial Arbitration and Mediation (APCAM) Summit will commence promptly at 9:30 a.m. on the 6th of May. The opening remarks and introduction about the Summit will be delivered by the Ms. Iram Majid, Executive Director of APCAM. This will be followed by a warm welcome address by Mr. Anil Xavier, Chairman of APCAM.

    Justice Surya Kant, Judge, Supreme Court of India, will present the inaugural address, providing valuable insights on the subject matter. Furthermore, Ms. Anna Joubin-Bret, the Secretary of the United Nations, and Justice (Retd.) M.N. Venkatachaliah, former Chief Justice of India and Chairman of APCAM Advisory Board, will be sharing their key messages on this occasion.

    Ms. Athita Komindr, Head of UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, will felicitate the event. This summit provides an excellent platform for professionals to come together and discuss critical issues that affect the Asia-Pacific region.

    The Inaugural Session will conclude with a vote of thanks by the esteemed Datuk Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari, Vice Chairman of APCAM, followed by a brief networking coffee break.

    Session 1:

    Session1 will commence promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will focus on the compelling theme of "Moving beyond borders: The critical role of institutions in facilitating international business resolution." Justice S.R. Bhat, a distinguished Judge of the Supreme Court of India, will preside over the session as the chairperson. Furthermore, the panelists for this session are luminaries in their respective fields, including Mr. Anil Xavier, Chairman of APCAM, Mr. Justice Madan B. Lokur, former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, Mr. Athita Komindr, Head of UNCITRAL Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, Mr. Danny McFaden, Director, CEDR, Hong Kong and Mr. Tejas Karia, Partner, Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, India.

    The session will delve into the paramount importance of institutions in facilitating international business resolutions. Justice Yashwant Varma, a distinguished Judge of the High Court of Delhi, will be the chairperson for this session. In addition, the panelists for this session are eminent experts in their fields, including Ms. Iram Majid, Executive Director APCAM, Mr. David Holloway, Partner at Al Tamini & Co., Mr. Justice Hemant Gupta, former Judge Supreme Court & Chairperson of India International Arbitration Centre, Mr. Sundra Rajoo, Director of AIAC, Malaysia, Mr. Rajendra Lade, General Manager-Legal at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., India and Mr. Siddhartha Sethi, Partner, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, India.
