GNLU and GIFT City launch the Knowledge Series on “International Financial Services Centre: Journey So Far and Road Ahead”

Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) & India’s 1^st International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) and Smart City at Gujarat International Finance-Tec City (GIFT IFSC) launched a Knowledge Series at GNLU was held on August 31, 2017. This was the inaugural session in which series of lecture was organized. Ms. Madhabi Puri Buch, Whole Time Member of SEBI, was the Chief Guest at the event and Mr. Ashish Kumar Chauhan, MD & CEO, BSE gave the key note speech. Mr. Ajay Pandey, MD & Group CEO, GIFT City, Dr. Bimal Patel, Director, GNLU, senior officials of GIFT City, GNLU, law professionals and students from the legal fraternity participated in the event.

The Knowledge Series was one of the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between GIFT IFSC and GNLU recently.

During the welcome address, Dr. Bimal Patel said that “The Knowledge Lecture Series is the first academic partnership which GIFT has entered into with GNLU and its aim is to channelize the young talent pool of the nation and bring business back to India so that full potential of the market can be realized.”

Mr. Ajay Pandey said, “GIFT IFSC has recently entered into an MOU with GNLU as financial law which is an important aspect of global financial transactions. The objective is to help edify law professionals on IFSC rules, arbitration and regulations concerning global financial transactions. We look forward to organizing more such Knowledge Sessions to educate all relevant stakeholders and enhance their proficiency in the subject of global financial laws.”
