    NLU Delhi Project 39A - Fair Trial Fellowship is organizing a anel discussion on India’s bail system, it’s faultless and the ways forward. The topic for the panel discussion is ‘Untangling Bail Cases’.

    Project 39A is a criminal justice research and litigation centre, inspired by Article 39-A of the Indian Constitution, a provision that furthers the intertwined values of equal justice and equal opportunity by removing economic and social barriers.

    The Fair Trial Fellowship (“the Fellowship”) is an opportunity for young lawyers and social workers to work for providing quality legal representation to undertrial prisoners. The Fellowship trains and mentors a group of young professionals to work in collaboration with the State Legal Services Authority towards ensuring fair trial for undertrial prisoners at both pre-trial and trial stages.

    Daksh is India’s leading think-tank and research institution focused on law and justice system reforms and access to justice.

    The panelists for the discussion are:

    1. Justice Akhil Kureshi, Former Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court and Tripura High Court.

    2. Rebecca John, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India
