Haryana State Legal Services Authority Holds Commendation Ceremony For Volunteers, Members

On 3rd January, 2021, Haryana State Legal Services Authority organized its first State Level Commendation Ceremony of District Legal Services Authorities, Panel Advocates, Para Legal Volunteers and HALSA/DLSA employees in the Administrative Building of HALSA, Sector-14, Panchkula. The purpose of the Commendation Ceremony was to boost the morale of the team of Legal Services Authorities and acknowledge the work and efforts made by them to achieve the motto of 'ACCESS TO JUSTICE FOR ALL". Mrs. Justice Daya Chaudhary, Judge, Punjab & Haryana High Court and Executive Chairperson, HALSA graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Chief Judicial Magistrates-cum-Secretaries, District Legal Services Authorities of Haryana and staff members of HALSA and DLSA, Panchkula attended the Commendation Ceremony. During Ceremony, Justice Chaudhary shared her valuable views and experiences with the participants. The High Court judge stated that COVID has affected the functioning of courts and government departments at different levels and presented a great challenge before the world to find out suitable ways and means to restore normalcy in lives. Amid such difficulties and obstacles, Legal Services Authorities constantly stepped ahead and extended assistance to the downtrodden sections of the society in difficult times of COVID-19. Justice Chaudhary also stated that an Institution or Organization is made up of a team which works day and night for the success and accomplishment of the organization. She further added that the success of any Institution is an ultimate outcome of the hard work, dedication and devotion of the employees of that organization. Justice Chaudhary acknowledged the role of Panel Advocates, Para Legal Volunteers and employees that they all are working as a team for the effective execution of the action plan of the Legal Services Authorities. She added that they not only apprise about the schemes and benefits of the Centre/State Governments but also connect the persons with the welfare Schemes. Panel Advocates, PLVs and employees are working as a pillar of the Legal Services Institutions who help in revamping and expanding the sphere of the Legal Services Authorities. Appreciating the efforts of all, she added that the Secretaries of DLSAs are continuously guiding their teams to perform better and with the belief to break each and every barrier come across to achieve the motto of "Access to Justice for All". It's their vision, perception and commitment which helped the Legal Services Institutions to set new & fresh goals and put persistent efforts towards their accomplishment While sharing her experience with HALSA, the judge stated that COVID infection completely restrained the physical activities of Legal Services Authorities, but with the help of technology, Legal Services Institutions reached the people at large. Over the last few months, HALSA launched online Mediation, e-Lok Adalat, Daily e-Lok Adalat in the State of Haryana to facilitate a virtual platform to the parties to resolve their issues amicably which marked a great success in the showcase of HALSA. Public awareness has been made through digital platform on several socio-economic issues. In the Commendation Ceremony, HALSA announced 19 awards under different categories for Best DLSAs, Panel Advocates, PLVs and employees of HALSA/DLSAs for their sheer efforts and commitment. The District Legal Services Authorities, Kurukshetra, Gurugram, Ambala, Jhajjar, Faridabad and Sonepat have been adjudged best DLSAs in Haryana under different categories such as (i) for overall performance, (ii) exceptional work in Mediation, (iii) for rendering legal services, (iv) for outreach programmes, (v) for exceptional work in COVID-19 and (vi) for Activity of the Year respectively. That apart, Panel Advocates namely Dr. Sujan Singh, DLSA Gurugram, Ms. Divya Chugh, DLSA Kurukshetra and Sh. Ravinder Gupta, DLSA Faridabad have been declared best in Haryana for (i) rendering quality and effective legal services, (ii) maximum contribution in outreach programme and (iii) exceptional work during COVID-19 respectively. Sh. Anil Kumar, PLV, DLSA Hisar and Ms. Rita, PLV, DLSA Karnal have been adjudged best in Haryana for (i) social contribution and (ii) exceptional work during COVID-19 respectively. Sh. Dharmender, Accountant, DLSA Jhajjar, Sh. Satish Kumar, Clerk, DLSA Kurukshetra, Ms. Meenu, Assistant, DLSA Ambala, Sh. Yashpal, Clerk, DLSA Narnual and Sh. Pardeep Kumar, Clerk, DLSA Karnal have been declared best employees of DLSAs in Haryana under five categories such as (i) for Efficient Accounting, for Public Relationship Management Skills, (iii) for Social Contribution, (iv) for Efficient Record Keeping and (v) For Taking Initiatives in Working respectively. ...
