  • Nirma University Hosts its 23rd Convocation
    Nirma University witnessed 23rd Convocation on its main campus lawn on Thursday, April 20, 2017. A total of 107 students of BA LLB (Hons), 65 students of B.Com LLB (Hons) and 46 students of BBA LL.B (Hons) graduated while proud parents, friends and relatives watched from the sea of audience members who turned out for the event.

    The Convocation was declared open by Dr. Karsanbhai K Patel, President- Nirma University. Dr. Patel delivered the welcome address and introduced the Chief Guest-
    Prof Ved Prakash
    , Former Chairman- University Grants Commission.

    Prof. Ved Prakash awarded the medals to the meritorious students in various streams. In his Convocation address he discussed that higher education demands focus on the four E’s- Expansion, Equity, Excellence and Employability. He stressed on the need for enhancing Gross Enrollment Ratio, better infrastructure, better state institutions and enriching teaching capacities. He stressed on the need for universities with better industry linkages and mobilizing vocational and main stream education. Prof Ved Prakash conveyed his best wishes to the Graduating students, and their parents and urged students to appreciate the power of perseverance and never every give up something they find to be tough. He insisted every students, whether they go for higher education or entering the industry, must develop his own library at home. “One should never ever forget the alma matter and must contribute in whatever way possible. One must also develop a character that is known to of impeccable integrity” he added. He also asked students to work hard to meet the challenges world is facing and ensure an enlightening future.

    Dr. Anup K Singh, Director General- Nirma University shared the progress report of the University and congratulated the graduating students.

    Prof. Dr. Purvi Pokhariyal, Dean & Director- Institute of Law awarded the degrees to the Law graduates.
