  • Senior Research Associate Vacancy at Centre for Social Justice
    Centre for Social Justice Invites applications from the eligible candidates for the post of Senior Research Associate.

    Job Responsibilities: Senior Research Associates will be full time consultants based in Ahmedabad but may have to spend up to two or three weeks in the Centre’s field areas, every month. As an SRA, individuals will be expected to:

    • Guide the Centre’s team of YPPLEs who are placed in the RaCB Unit as Research Associates (RAs), helping them evolve in the area of legal research and empowerment;

    • Design CSJ’s action-research interventions and provide methodological inputs to the research conducted by RAs;

    • Supervise data collection on the field, carry out analysis and make policy interventions on behalf of CSJ by authoring briefs, research reports and court petitions as well as academic and non-academic publications;

    • Assess and cater to CSJ’s internal capacity building needs, design its external capacity building programmes, carry out trainings and develop training materials;

    • Help CSJ evolve a vulnerability and Access to Justice framework;

    • Have their own capacities built by being sent for workshops outside the organisation;

    • Bring in creative approaches and perspectives to the existing work;


    Essential Qualifications

    1. A bachelor’s degree in law (candidates with additional academic qualification in relevant areas will be preferred);

    2. A minimum of 3 years of PQE in the field of human rights, in particular, human rights research and practice, or a minimum of 3 years of PQE in other areas of research but with a demonstrable interest in and understanding of the Constitution, human rights, laws related to these rights;

    3. The willingness to travel to and spend half of every month in CSJ’s field areas, a good understanding of field research methodologies and writing skills are essential;

    4. A strong commitment to constitutional values, including those of social justice, liberty, equality that embodies anti-subordination principle and secularism.
