The Madhya Pradesh High Court has declined to issue any direction to set up a dispensary on the court premises or specialised hospitals at the divisional headquarters (revenue) for the legal fraternity across the state.

Deputy Advocate General Samdarshi Tiwari said: “As of now, the national ambulance service is available on dedicated number 108.”

He informed such a facility of ambulance is available with the adjoining hospitals to the high court as well.

A division bench comprising of Chief Justice Hemant Gupta and Justice Sanjay Yadav said: “We do not find that any further orders are called for providing facility of ambulance service to the members of the Bar and litigating public.”

The court turned down the prayer of the petitioner to have a dispensary on the court premises and specialised hospitals for treatment of legal fraternity at the divisional headquarters (revenue).

The court said: “We may say that it is an act of policy keeping in view of financial and man power resources.”

“Therefore, we do not find that any direction is required to be issued for providing dispensary and /or specialised hospitals at the divisional headquarters.”

The court disposed of the petition filed by the Advocates’ Social and Welfare Association, Jabalpur, in this connection.
