#SupremeCourt hears plea by State of West Bengal challenging the interim bail granted to Congress candidate Milan Pradhan who is the contesting the Nandigram by-election.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta: your lord ships doubted that he was arrested only because of the election. I am just trying to remove that doubt.

Mehta: why he was arrested now was not because of the election or because he was a candidate etc. He was not arrested since 2007 because the state was protecting him.
