Sr Adv Sundraram: 44 lakh voters removed because they don't exist. New voters added. Election Commission said they will finish by October 16

CJI: There are only 2 categories that need to be taken care of - those who are not alive and those whp have shifted somewhere else (and are registered there)

Sundaram: Under S.21 of Municipal and Panchayat Act, it will be gone by latest SIR. If SIR is not ready, then it goes by last electoral roll

CJI: Suppose a person comes and [election agent says he is bad], how can he be permitted to cast vote?

Sundaram - ECI has come out with a press note. they said AP is in final phase and publication...they are coming out with final list in 1 week. in view of this, HC having gone on the basis that you follow 01.01.2026 and start election process in 6 weeks...that can never be the case
