Bombay High Court says it will ensure no person is illegally detained, however, asks petitioner to place specific instances of persons being detained, on record.

A division bench of Chief Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi and Justice Advait Sethna said it will "take care" of the issue.

The bench was hearing a PIL filed by one Sagar Kantilal Devre alleging that the police has been illegally detaining not only protestors but even passers by, pedestrians etc.

When the matter was called out, the Govt Counsel informed the bench that he just received the petition copy and thus sought an adjournment.
