These are times that the country should think about and take steps for protection of our country - Former Supreme Court judge Justice Kurian Joseph said today.

Justice Joseph is delivering a seminar on the topic - Independence of Election Commission of India "Compromised?"

J Joseph: Election Commissioner cannot enjoy any special privileges. It is meant to be an institution, not a person. Unfortunately people holding high constitutional office in our country have a wrong understanding or a misguided impression that there is power concentrated on the person. But the Constitution of India does not confer any power on the person.
