Supreme Court hears Tamil Nadu's plea challenging Madras HC direction to establish Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas in each district.

Counsel for State of TN: this court had passed an order to reserve the land for the schools. There has been change of regime and I have taken instructions. Consultationa have happened and there are some outcomes. We will seeker recall of that land order.

Counsel: first of all this is not a state where there is any lack of facilities that there should be a new scheme. The state has the largest outlay on education in the whole country, 45000 crores.
