Call for Submissions: TERI School’s Judicial Activism Event LegalEyes [1st-3rd Nov]

The TERI School of Advanced Studies is organising Climate Jamboree, a series of events running through June to October 2018 to start an engagement process for youth from different disciplines and different walks of life with sustainability thinking.

As part of its lead-up events, it has invited submissions for LegalEyes, a judicial activism event. It is an attempt to evaluate the readiness of the Indian judicial system to promote sustainable development and involves identifying appropriate judgment/s of the Supreme Court of India & high courts relating to the environmental/social protection and critically analyze them from the SDG perspective.

Eligibility: The activity is open for all LL.B. students from India.

The students can participate as an individual and submit only one entry along with a certificate from the head of the institute indicating that the participant is a bonafide LL.B. student.

Word limit: The write-up should be of up to 2,000 words (excluding footnotes)

Awards: Out of the submissions, five best entries will get book vouchers worth INR 10,000 each and a chance to speak at the grand finale of Climate Jamboree at Thyagaraj Stadium in New Delhi. Apart from this, appreciation certificates will be given to all participating students.

There is no registration fee for the event.
