The Gujarat Real Estate Regulatory Authority (“Authority”) has issued a general order directing all builders to install detailed information boards and banners at every registered project site so that homebuyers can access complete and updated project details without relying solely on the RERA website.

The Authority noted that many prospective buyers remain unaware of the existing practice where project information is accessed mainly through a QR code on the RERA registration certificate, leaving them without easy access to key facts about the project. It observed that citizens often struggle to obtain accurate and current details before making investment decisions.

As per the order dated Novermber 28,  issued in Gujarati, every ongoing RERA-registered project in Gujarat must install a board or banner at the project site clearly displaying the RERA registration number, the QR code printed on the registration certificate and the link to the RERA website. The board must also include the approved sanctioned plans, approved layout plans, project specifications and amenities, construction-related details, particulars of the RERA-designated collection bank account and information about any project-level loan.

Builders must present all this information on a board, banner, hoarding or digital screen measuring 2 m × 1.2 m. The display must be placed at the project entrance at a height between 1.5 m and 2 m. It should be made from waterproof material and use either a white or yellow background. The lettering must be at least 2.5 cm in size and the QR code must appear in a 15 × 15 cm square.

Promoters are required to upload geo-tagged photographs of the installed boards on the Gujarat RERA portal with latitude and longitude clearly visible. The Authority stated that non-compliance will attract action under the RERA Act.

The authority emphasised that placing this information directly at the project site will allow buyers to verify the project's legal and financial details on the spot. This, according to the Authority, strengthens transparency, reduces misinformation and ensures greater consumer protection in Gujarat's real estate sector.
