Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UPRERA) has released a new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for Registration of Real Estate Agents. This SOP has been released in accordance with Section 9 of the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016, which stipulates provisions for the registration of real estate agents, and Section 10, which stipulates provisions related to the functions of real estate agents.

Application Process

To initiate the registration process, aspiring agents must first create a profile on the Uttar Pradesh RERA portal. This digital platform will serve as the gateway to regulatory compliance. Following profile creation, agents are required to undergo comprehensive training and certification programs, prerequisites for registration.

Review of Application

Once these preliminary steps are completed, agents will have to submit their registration application through the online portal. Each application will undergo meticulous scrutiny by UP RERA, ensuring compliance with regulatory norms. This will include verifying the agent's credentials and assessing any pending disputes that may impact eligibility.

Resolution of Application

In cases where objections arise during the review process, applicants will be promptly notified and required to address them within a specified timeframe. Upon satisfactory resolution of objections, the registration certificate will be issued, signifying official recognition within the real estate sector.

In Case of Rejection

In the event of rejection, applicants will have the opportunity to rectify deficiencies and resubmit their application within a prescribed period, without incurring additional fees. However, failure to address objections within the designated timeframe or upon rejection of the resubmitted application will necessitate payment of the registration fee for a fresh application.

The Standard Operating Procedure for Registration of Real Estate Agents will be effective upon the launch of the online system on the UP RERA portal.
