Chhattisgarh High Court Holds Virtual Bhoomi Poojan For Family Court At Jashpur, Judges' Residences At Dantewada & Sukma

The High Court of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday (December 17, 2025) held a Virtual Bhoomi Poojan and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony for the construction of a Family Court building at Jashpur and Judges' residential quarters at South Bastar Dantewada and Sukma, marking a significant step towards strengthening judicial infrastructure in the State.

The ceremony was presided over by Justice Ramesh Sinha, Chief Justice of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, who virtually laid the foundation stones for the projects.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Justice underscored that robust judicial infrastructure is the backbone of an effective, accessible, and people-centric justice delivery system. He observed that the development of modern court complexes with essential facilities, along with the provision of dignified residential accommodation for judicial officers, enhances the efficiency of court administration and ensures a conducive environment for the independent and impartial discharge of judicial functions.

Justice Sinha further noted that such infrastructure initiatives strengthen institutional capacity, improve working conditions for judicial officers and staff, and ultimately contribute to timely delivery of justice. Emphasising the State's commitment to balanced regional development, the Chief Justice stated that extending quality judicial infrastructure to remote and tribal districts reinforces public confidence in the justice system and upholds the constitutional mandate of equal access to justice for all citizens.

The event was held in the virtual presence of Justice Ravindra Kumar Agrawal, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge, Civil District–Jashpur, and Justice Bibhu Datta Guru, Judge, High Court of Chhattisgarh and Portfolio Judge, Civil District–South Bastar Dantewada.

Also present were the Registrar General and officers of the High Court Registry, Principal District & Sessions Judges, Judicial Officers, District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, members of the Bar Associations, office-bearers, and court personnel from the concerned districts.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Shri Rakesh Bihari Ghore, Judge, Family Court, Jashpur. A short video presentation showcasing the proposed Family Court building at Jashpur and the Judges' residential projects at South Bastar Dantewada and Sukma was also screened, providing an overview of the planned infrastructure.

The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Shri Santosh Kumar Aditya, Principal District and Sessions Judge, South Bastar Dantewada, who expressed gratitude to the Judges, officers, and all stakeholders for their cooperation and support in the successful conduct of the programme.

The event reaffirmed the High Court of Chhattisgarh's continued commitment to infrastructure development and the strengthening of the justice delivery system across the State.
