iProbono, a non-profit organization with a mission is to enable people to access their rights in pursuit of a just society, invites application for the post of Program Officer (Child protection casework) at Bangalore, Junior Program Officer (Child protection casework) at Delhi as a full-time post.

Name of the Post: Program Officer, Bangalore (Child protection casework), and Junior Program Officer, Delhi (Child protection casework).

Essential Qualification and Experience

Program Officer, Bangalore

• Candidate should have a bachelor's degree in law with 1-2 years work experience with an NGO or litigation chamber.

• Candidate should have sound knowledge of the Indian legal system, particularly laws related to child rights.

• Candidate should have effective legal research skills and excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Kannada.

• Candidate should be comfortable working independently and as part of a small team.

Junior Program Officer, Delhi

• Candidate should have bachelor's degree in law with 1-3 years of court experience while working at an NGO and/or litigation chamber.

• Candidate should have sound knowledge of the Indian legal system, particularly laws related to child rights.

• Candidate should have excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Hindi

Roles & Responsibilities

Program Officer, Bangalore

• Assisting the Public Prosecutor in Court, coordinating with iProbono panel lawyers and keeping notes of follow-up action required for our casework.

• Documentation (updating the iProbono in-house database, updating and creating case notes, updating litigation management notes and dates of hearings)

• Legal research, drafting and writing.

• Reaching out to NGOs to initiate new partnerships.

• Developing and working on advocacy projects and strategic litigation, based on an assessment of needs on the ground.

• Organizing and executing workshops and trainings for our partner organizations and their beneficiaries.

Junior Program Officer, Delhi

• Attending court hearings, coordinating with panel lawyers and keeping notes of follow-up action required.

• Documentation (updating the iProbono in-house database, updating and creating case notes, updating litigation management notes and dates of hearings).

• Legal research and writing.

• Reaching out to NGOs to initiate new partnerships.

• Developing and working on advocacy projects and strategic litigation, based on an assessment of needs on ground.

• Organising and executing workshops and trainings for our partner organisations and their beneficiaries.

• Draft articles and social media posts regarding own programs work, as required.
