Essential Qualification and Experience
· A Degree in LL.B. with 2-4 years of experience.
· Knowledge of Law and interpretation skills.
· Familiarity with Legal system and key regulators.
· Knowledge of Business Operations and local environment.
· Good Oral and Written Communication Skills.
· Ability to identify key risk areas vis – a –vis compliance and effect thereof.
Roles & Responsibilities
· As Single Point of Contact for Statutory & Regulatory compliance, by way of identification, assignment, evaluation, updation of compliance obligations and provide knowledge support in terms of advisory & training) to: (a) TSL manufacturing units in Jamshedpur, (b) Corporate Services, (c) Medical Services, and (d) Other divisions / units of TSL as may be identified to support assigned Tata Steel Group Companies in implementation of Compliance Framework, periodic evaluation of compliance status and knowledge support.
· Implementing Compliance Management system across the assigned divisions / units/ functions of the organisation and ensuring that the system is relevant and upto date and provide necessary support to TS Group Companies for the same.
· Monitoring compliance status of assigned divisions / units / functions through the online Compliance Management system / on ground evaluation and highlighting / escalating key compliance concerns to the Management and suggesting remedial measures.
· Keeping track of associated legal amendments / developments and assessment of its impact on the assigned divisions / units / functions of the organisation and timely communication of the same to concerned stakeholders within the organisation.
· Carrying out periodic Compliance reviews across the assigned divisions / units / functions of the organisation and TSL Group Companies.
· Presenting compliance status of the assigned divisions / units / functions of the organisation and TS Group Companies, at appropriate forum.
· Keeping Compliance obligations relevant to changes in business / operations.
· Ensure user issues are addressed timely and providing need based advisory support.
· Assessing and providing need based training on specified areas of law to the assigned divisions / units / functions of the organisation and TSL Group Companies.
· Working on initiatives to improve compliance culture in the organization.
· Preparing monthly MIS for submission to Senior Management
