Online Applications For Kerala Judicial Service Exam 2023 Invited From 1st Feb

Online applications are invited from qualified candidates for appointment to the post of Munsiff-Magistrate in the Kerala Judicial Service against NCA and Regular vacancies from 1st February. 

The selection for the post shall be made after holding competitive examinations at two successive stages. The first stage is the Kerala Judicial Service (Preliminary) Examination and the second stage is the Kerala Judicial Service (Main) Examination, consisting of a written examination and a viva-voce.

Qualifications Required:

For Direct Recruitment:

A candidate for appointment as Munsiff-Magistrate by direct recruitment  should satisfy the following conditions:

  • Shall be a citizen of India.
  • Shall be a holder of a degree in Law recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment as an Advocate.
  • Shall not have completed 35 years of age on the first day of January 2023. The upper age limit is raised by 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to any of the Scheduled Castes or adult members of such castes and their children when such adult members are converted to other religions or Scheduled Tribes and by 3 years in the case of candidates belonging to any of the Other Backward Classes, as provided in Rules 10(c) of Part II of Kerala State and Subordinate Services Rules, 1958.
  • Shall be of good character and sound health.

Recruitment by Transfer:

The notification reads that no officer in service shall be eligible for appointment as Munsiff-Magistrate by transfer unless they hold a degree in law recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of enrolment as an advocate, not below the age of 54 years of age and is an approved probationer in any one or more of the feeder categories.  

The eligible candidates can submit the application online through the website www.hckrecuitment.nic.in.

Applicants except for candidates belonging to SC/ST community or unemployed persons with disability have to pay Rs. 1250 as the Application fee. 

The preliminary examination is scheduled to be conducted on 14th May 2023 and it shall consist of one paper of objective type test on CPC,  CrPC, Indian Evidence Act, IPC, Constitution of India, Indian Contract Act, Negotiable Instruments Act, Transfer of Property Act, Specific Relief Act, Kerala Building (Lease and Rent Control) Act and Reasoning and Mental ability.
