Asia Pacific Centre For Arbitration & Mediation (APCAM) Celebrated Its Second Anniversary

APCAM, an international Arbitration & Mediation Centre established for the first time in the world jointly by 9 arbitration and mediation centres from Asia-Pacific countries, with centres available in India, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand and Nepal celebrated its 2nd anniversary on 13th August 2022. APCAM was also recognised by the United Nations as Observer in the working groups related to both mediation and arbitration

On the 2nd anniversary celebration, APCAM also launched the APCAM Academy Lecture Series as a new competency model learning program, that shines a spotlight on the important role of improving problem-solving skills, communication, increased focus on technology & innovation, innate technicalities etc. This will be a free online academic conversation conducted monthly.

In the anniversary function, keynote address and launch of Lecture series was done by Mr. Justice Ravindra Bhat, Judge, Supreme Court of India. Welcome address was given by Mr. Anil Xavier, Chairman APCAM. Guest speakers included Mr. Justice Madan Lokur, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, Mr. Joao Ribero, Former Head of UNCITRAL Asia Pacific, the Hague, Mr. Phongthep Thepkanjana, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Chief Judge, Thailand and Prof. Dr. Mieke Komar, SH, MCL, FCBArb, MCIArb, Former Justice, Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia. Mr. Fahmi Shahab, Secretary General, APCAM from Indonesia gave the report of APCAM. Felicitations were given by Dr. Francis Law, Vice-Chairman, APCAM from Hong Kong, Datuk Kuthubul Zaman Bukhari, Vice-Chairman, APCAM from Malaysia, Ms. Delcy Lagones de Anglim, Board Member, APCAM from Australia and Dr, Rajesh Sharma, Chair Accreditation Committee of APCAM from Australia. The program was compered by Ms. Iram Majid, Executive Director, APCAM from India. After the anniversary function, the first Lecture series was conducted by Mr. Anil Xavier on the subject "Case Management in International Mediation". The function was attended by more than 150 participants from around the globe.
