DNLU Jabalpur To Host National Conference On Tribal Custom, Law, Rights And Reforms
The Centre for Studies in Tribal and Indigenous Communities (CSTIC), Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, in collaboration with the Tribal Research and Development Institute (TRDI), Bhopal, is organizing a Two Days National Conference on "Tribal Custom, Law, Rights, and Reforms" on 19th-20th September, 2026.
The conference aims to examine the dynamic relationship between customary practices, constitutional safeguards, and statutory frameworks governing tribal communities. It provides a collaborative platform for academicians, researchers, and policymakers to deliberate on legal reforms, cultural preservation, and inclusive governance. The conference is organized under three broad themes - Asmita, Astitwa, and Vikas - covering sub-themes such as tribal medicinal knowledge and IPR, tribal conversion and delisting, civil law and customary practices, the PESA Act, and the Forest Rights Act, 2006.
Accepted papers will be published in a special issue of The Vantage: A Journal of Law and Social Sciences.
