About the GNLU Centre for Intellectual Property Rights (GCIPR)
The GNLU Centre for Intellectual Property Rights, established in 2016, promotes teaching, research, training, and capacity-building in intellectual property law. The Centre conducts academic activities, certificate programmes, policy discussions, and outreach initiatives aimed at strengthening understanding of IP-related issues across sectors. It launched the Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (PGDIPR) in 2021, which has now completed five successful batches with wide participation from students, professionals, researchers, and industry stakeholders.
About the PG Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (PGDIPR)
Applications are now open for the 6th Batch (2026) of the Post Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights. The programme is designed to offer a strong and practical understanding of intellectual property laws, their contemporary relevance, and their application across various industries. As IP continues to shape business strategy, technological innovation, creative industries, and global trade, this diploma provides participants with the conceptual clarity and applied skills needed to navigate the evolving IP landscape.
The PGDIPR follows a one-year, two-semester structure, delivered in a weekend blended-learning format, making it accessible for working professionals and students pursuing parallel academic or professional commitments. While the programme is largely conducted online on weekends, students are required to visit the campus for examinations and specific academic components.

The curriculum is comprehensive and interdisciplinary, covering major domains of IP law through eight modules, including:
- Introduction to the Indian legal system and evolution of intellectual property
- Patent law
- Trademark law and geographical indications
- Copyright and industrial designs
