About The Course

Climate change is arguably the most widely discussed global environmental crisis in contemporary times. The emerging scientific proof of anthropogenic climate change and global warming has significantly shaped and continues to shape, legal responses. While there has been crucial progress and developments in terms of legal responses, particularly at the international level, there are several concerns and challenges from a justice perspective, most importantly from the point of view of particularly vulnerable countries (eg. Island countries) and people (eg. workers). In this context, this course aims to provide a critical understanding of the legal regime on climate change and introduce a justice perspective from the point of view of marginalized countries and people. It is part of NLUO's and SOAS's initiative to disseminate awareness about climate change law and related justice issues.
