Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas Celebrated At DNLU With Focus On Indigenous Knowledge Systems

The Centre for Studies in Tribal & Indigenous Communities (CSTIC) at Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur, celebrated Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas on 15 November 2025 by honouring the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and highlighting the richness of tribal culture.

The event was organised under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar Sinha, Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Praveen Tripathi, Registrar, DNLU.

During the programme, Dr. Tripathi addressed the gathering and spoke about the Indian Knowledge System, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, land rights, and the pressing need for land reforms. He encouraged students to cultivate well-informed and thoughtful perspectives on these issues.

The programme was also graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Dayaram Kumre, Additional District & Sessions Judge, who shared valuable insights on legal interpretation and the importance of developing independent and reasoned viewpoints.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Jalaj Goantiya and Dr. Amit Kumar Mishra, Faculty Advisors, CSTIC, with support from the student organising committee led by Student Advisor Mr. Rishabh Bharti, Ms. Mayuri Tumdam (Convenor), and Mr. Parakram Thakur & Ms. Gungun Ajay Khursel (Co-Convenors).
