National Conference On “The New Labour Codes: Prospective Concerns For Human Rights”
Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, through its Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare (CASLW) and Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights (CASIHR), is organising a One-Day National Conference titled “The New Labour Codes: Prospective Concerns for Human Rights” on 20 March 2026 in hybrid mode.
The conference aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for academicians, practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and students to critically examine the implications of India's new labour codes on labour welfare, social security, dignity of labour, and human rights. With the consolidation of multiple labour legislations into four labour codes, significant questions have emerged regarding the protection of workers' rights, collective bargaining, occupational safety, and access to labour justice, particularly for vulnerable and informal sector workers.
Through expert deliberations and scholarly discussions, the conference seeks to assess whether the new labour law framework strengthens or dilutes labour protections in India. The event aspires to foster meaningful academic discourse and contribute to policy-oriented research on labour law reforms and human rights.
