NLIU Hosts 1st National Symposium on Securities Law and Capital Markets 2026

The Centre for Financial Markets and Regulatory Systems, National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal, successfully organised the 1st NLIU National Symposium on Securities Law and Capital Markets, 2026 on April 4–5, 2026.

As the flagship initiative of the Centre, the Symposium aimed to foster academic discourse on contemporary developments in securities law and capital markets. The event witnessed participation from institutions across the country, with over 60 submissions received, reflecting growing engagement in this evolving field.

Organised in knowledge partnership with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, the two-day Symposium focused on key themes including the proposed New Securities Code, InvITs and REITs, and developments in primary and secondary markets. Following a competitive selection process, 27 teams were shortlisted to present their research across three preliminary panels.

Preliminary Round Judges:

  • Panel 1: Assistant Professor Amit Pratap Singh and Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Gupta
  • Panel 2: Mr. Subham Jain and Ms. Tulika Shree
  • Panel 3: Mr. Ankesh Kumar and Mr. Pradeep Kumar

Final Round Judges:

  • Mr. Abhinav Kumar, Partner, TTA
  • Mr. Reuben Chacko, Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas
  • Mr. Ravi Dubey, Partner, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas
  • Mr. Saswat Mohanty, Partner, Luthra and Luthra Law Offices

Winners:

  • Best Presenter: Khushi Kalyani Gautam and Suhana (HNLU)
  • Second Best Presenter: Yash Arjariya and Ayush Tiwari (HNLU)
  • Best Paper: Kyra Mehra and Ananya Rakheja (O.P. Jindal Global University)

The Symposium marks the beginning of what is envisaged as a sustained platform for encouraging scholarship, dialogue, and innovation in securities law and capital markets.
