Project Saksham 2.0: Orientation-Cum-Training Session For The Volunteers [2nd May]

Nek Mission and Naksh Foundation organized an Orientation-cum-Training session of Project Saksham 2.O on 2nd May 2023 at the Conference Center, Delhi University in collaboration with Law Center 1 and Law Center 2, Delhi University; Jamia Hamdard and Indraprastha University.

Project Saksham is a legal awareness and legal literacy campaign for the underprivileged sections of the society such as women, children, elderly, disabled, laborers, sex workers, LGBTQ. The project aims to educate them on their rights and welfare schemes of the government.


Mr. Himal Akhtar, Co-Chairman, Bar Council of Delhi as the Guest of Honour, Campus Law Center Professor Incharge Alka Chawla, Law Center 1 Professor Incharge Anju Wali Tikku, Law Center 2 Professor Incharge Mahaveer Singh, Professor Anupam Jha, Assistant Professor Upendra Nath, Assistant Professor Ishan Ahmed, Jamia Hamdard graced the occasion with their venerated presence. Importance of legal aid and legal service and the responsibility of each individual especially the students was highlighted. Students were motivated to contribute towards legal upliftment of different sections of the society through the pedestal created by Nek Foundation as the Project Saksham. Legal aid is the noble (nek) work towards making the society able and competent (saksham).


Project Executive Director Dinesh Chand Meena presented a report on the Project 1.0 . He discussed in detail about Project Saksham 2.O, how the project will enfold, the roles and responsibilities of volunteers, the outcomes etc. Project Saksham 2.0 through its 312 volunteers will organize legal awareness camps, conduct door-to-door surveys, organize classes for underprivileged children and women, assist in distribution drives, and maintain daily records of the field office. This project will work on legal aid in 12 areas of Delhi and different campuses will be organized in collaboration with various government agencies.
