NLU Delhi: Call For Registrations For A Five-Day Faculty Development Programme On International Law [12-17th Feb]

Registrations are open for the five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on International Law from the 12-17th of February 2024, organized by the National Law University Delhi, which is designed to enhance the teaching-learning and research skills of early career researchers and academics actively engaged in the scholarship and practical aspects of International Law which lack sufficient understanding.

The FDP aims to provide the participants with an opportunity to acquire knowledge about contemporary developments that are taking place in various specialized fields of International Law. The FDP aims to deepen the participants' understanding of modern teaching tools and methodologies that are deployed by scholars in the field of International Law. More importantly, this interactive and inclusive program will shed light on new, tried and tested, result-driven, and impact-based methods of teaching the basics of International Law and its various specialized areas by leading global experts in the field.

The ultimate goal of this FDP is to not only promote cutting-edge research in International Law but also to motivate young and passionate academics to utilize suitable teaching methods in their classrooms to train a new generation of students who are well-versed in the fundamentals of International Law and who are willing to contribute in the development of International Law globally.

The FDP aims to contribute to building the understanding and critical inquiry of the participants across International Law Teaching and Pedagogy (Prof. Aniruddha Rajput), Theory and Practice of International Law (Dr. Luther Rangreji) India, and International Law(Prof. V.G Hegde), International Trade Law (Prof. Ravindra Pratap, Prof. Biswajit Dhar, R.V Anuradha), International Investment Law (Prof. Aniruddha Rajput, Dr. Prabhash Ranjan) and International Humanitarian Law (Ms. Gunjan Chawla, Legal Adviser, International Committee of the Red Cross).

The University is also pleased to announce that, as a part of the FDP, it will host a panel discussion on the topic of 'India and the Shaping of International Law; Why it Matters, Where are we and Where do we go from here?'

The panelists in this Panel Discussion are leading stalwarts across both International Law Theory and Practice in India viz., Distinguished Prof, NLUD Dr. Aniruddha Rajput (Former International Law Commission Member [2017-22], Chairperson, Drafting Committee), Dr. Prabhash Ranjan, Dr. R.V Anuradha (Partner, Clarus Law Associates), Dr. Luther Rangreji (Ministry of External Affairs, Govt of India). This panel discussion shall be followed by a keynote address by a distinguished jurist.
