RGNUL's CIIPR To Organise International Seminar On Inclusive Labour Law Regime In India
The Centre for Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights (CIIPR), Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, in collaboration with Law Mantra Trust, is organising a two-day International Seminar on "Inclusive Labour Law Regime in India: Addressing Women Workers, Child Labour, and Informal Economy" on 16 and 17 October 2026. The seminar will be held online through Google Meet.
The seminar seeks to provide an academic platform for deliberations on India's evolving labour law framework, with a particular focus on women workers, child labour, and the informal economy. It aims to bring together judges, policymakers, legal practitioners, labour administrators, academicians, researchers, industry representatives, trade unions, civil society organisations, and students to discuss contemporary labour law reforms, constitutional and human rights perspectives, international labour standards, comparative experiences, and emerging challenges affecting vulnerable sections of the workforce.
The organisers state that the seminar also seeks to promote interdisciplinary research towards developing an equitable and inclusive labour law framework responsive to the changing nature of work. The programme will examine recent legislative reforms, challenges relating to women workers, child labour and informal sector workers, gender equality, social security, occupational safety, workplace dignity, and the impact of technological developments, digital labour platforms, and artificial intelligence on employment relations.
Research papers have been invited on themes including labour law reforms, women and gender equality, child labour, informal economy and social protection, occupational safety and health, technology and the future of work, international and comparative labour law, labour dispute resolution, and other contemporary issues relating to labour law and employment policy.
The seminar is open to academicians, researchers, legal professionals, policymakers, and students. Selected papers will be published in an edited book bearing an ISBN.
The last date for submission of abstracts is 30 September 2026. Selected abstracts will be announced on 2 October 2026, registration will remain open until 10 October 2026, and draft papers must be submitted by 15 October 2026.
