The law student from Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh who had earlier accused BJP leader and former Union Minister, Swami Chinmayanand of sexual harassment has now filed a complaint before the Delhi Police claiming that she was raped and exploited by him for a year, reports NDTV.

The accused BJP leader is the director of Swami Shukdevanand Law College in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh, where the complainant is an LLM candidate. After leveling allegations of sexual harassment against Chinmayanand by posting a live video on Facebook, she went missing from her home in Shahjahanpur. Later she was found in Jaipur and claimed to have escaped there in order to save her life. Subsequently, in suo moto proceedings initiated by the Supreme Court in this matter, an order directing the transfer of the complainant to another college for pursuing her degree was made.

She said that she had filed her complaint in Delhi because the Uttar Pradesh police had refused to entertain her case. "The Delhi Police has registered this complaint with Lodhi Road police station and has forwarded it to Shahjahanpur police, which is not registering the rape case", she said.

She also told the media that despite telling everything to the SIT appointed by the Supreme Court to investigate the matter, the BJP leader had not been arrested. "On Sunday, the SIT quizzed me for about 11 hours. I have told them about the rape. Even after I told them everything, they haven't arrested Chinmayanand yet", she said.
