Two days after a woman judge posted in Uttar Pradesh's Badayun district was found hanging in her official residence, the police have lodged a case for murder against unidentified persons on a complaint moved by her father.

Earlier it was claimed that 27-year-old Civil Judge (Junior Division) Jyotsna Rai, who hailed from Mau and was currently posted in Badayun, had died by suicide as the police had recovered a suicide note from the spot. However, now a case of Murder has been lodged and a probe is underway.

The postmortem was conducted on Sunday under the supervision of a magistrate. After this, the police handed over her body to the family members. Rai, had been transferred to Badayun a year ago after she was transferred from Ayodhya.
