Chief Justice Arun Palli Accorded Full Court Reference By J&K and Ladakh High Court Ahead Of Elevation To Supreme Court
A Full Court Reference was held in the Court Room of the Chief Justice at the Srinagar Wing of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh to honour Chief Justice Arun Palli on his elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
The Reference was convened in accordance with the long-standing conventions and institutional traditions of the High Court. It was attended by Justices Sanjeev Kumar, Sindhu Sharma, Rajnesh Oswal, Sanjay Dhar, Mohd. Akram Chowdhary, Rahul Bharti, Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Wasim Sadiq Nargal, Rajesh Sekhri, Mohd. Yousuf Wani, Sanjay Parihar and Shahzad Azeem, along with the spouses of the Judges of the High Court.
Former Chief Justices and former Judges of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, the Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, the Judicial Member of the Central Administrative Tribunal, Srinagar Bench, senior officers of the civil administration, law officers, members of the Bar, judicial officers and officers of the Registry were also present. Officers, officials and advocates from the Jammu Wing joined the proceedings virtually.
Delivering the farewell address, Mohsin Qadri, Senior Additional Advocate General, Srinagar, highlighted Chief Justice Arun Palli's judicial career, scholarship, administrative acumen and commitment to the cause of justice. He observed that the Chief Justice's tenure was marked by vision, integrity, accessibility and a steadfast commitment towards strengthening the justice delivery system, promoting institutional efficiency and upholding the highest traditions of the judiciary.
The President of the Kashmir Advocates Association, Srinagar, expressed appreciation for the humility, judicial wisdom, accessibility and dedication of Chief Justice Arun Palli to the rule of law. He also conveyed the best wishes of the legal fraternity on his elevation to the Supreme Court.
Justice Sanjeev Kumar, in his farewell address, reflected on the judicial career, leadership and contributions of Chief Justice Arun Palli to the institution. He recalled the impact of his stewardship on the administration of justice and the functioning of the High Court and lauded his dedication, humility, clarity of thought and commitment to judicial excellence.
Responding to the farewell addresses, Chief Justice Arun Palli expressed gratitude to the companion Judges, members of the Bar, judicial officers, officers and officials of the Registry and all stakeholders for their cooperation and support during his tenure. He reflected on his association with the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh and emphasised the importance of preserving the traditions, values and independence of the institution. He also appreciated the contribution of the Bar and the dedication of the officers and staff of the High Court in ensuring the effective administration of justice.
The proceedings of the Full Court Reference were conducted by M.K. Sharma, Registrar General of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. Following the conclusion of the proceedings, Chief Justice Arun Palli was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour by security personnel as a mark of respect.
