Considering the current lockdown due to the outbreak of the pandemic of Covid-19, Bombay Bar Association issued a notice on Monday declaring that member advocates of the said association will be given financial assistance if needed and even non-members will be given such assistance, but priority will be given to the members.

Notice signed by Secretary of BBA Senior Advocate Dr.Birendra Saraf states that the BBA Trust was formed with one of the objects of providing financial assistance to Advocates and in the present scenario, any Advocate who is a member of the Bombay Bar Association or has applied for the membership of the Bombay Bar Association may make a request for financial assistance with following details-

1) Full name

2) Date of Birth

3) Enrolment No. and date of Enrolment

4) Annual Income

5) Statement and Undertaking that the advocate has not received financial assistance from any other source.

6) Bank Ac details - Bank account number, bank, branch, IFSC code

All requests can be forwarded to the following email id-honsec@bombaybar.com

Similar notifications announcing financial aid to lawyers in the current crisis have been issued by the Delhi High Court Bar Association, Odisha Bar Council, the Bar Council of Kerala Telangana Bar Council.
