Delhi Court Rejects Plea To Transfer Cases Against Rabri Devi & Her Family Members From Judge Vishal Gogne
A Delhi Court on Friday (December 19) reportedly dismissed Rabri Devi's plea to transfer cases lodged against her and her family members including her husband Lalu Yadav and son Tejaswi Yadav, from court of Special Judge Vishal Gogne of Rouse Avenue courts.
As per a report by PTI, Rabri Devi had alleged bias on the judge's part.
The report states that Principal and District Sessions Judge Dinesh Bhatt dismissed the plea seeking transfer of four cases including those by the ED and CBI linked to the alleged land for jobs and IRCTC scams.
Notably Judge Gogne had recently refused to take cognizance of Enforcement Directorate's money laundering complaint in the National Herald case allegedly involving Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. The Judge had in his order noted investigation and prosecution complaint pertaining to the offence of money laundering was not maintainable in the absence of an FIR for the predicate offence. The order further states that cognizance of ED's complaint was impermissible in law since the prosecution complaint pertaining to the offence of money laundering was founded on cognizance and summoning order upon a complaint filed by a public person- Dr. Subramanian Swamy, and not upon a FIR.
