Criminal Defamation Complaint Filed Against Dhirendra Shastri In Agra Court Over Remarks On Lord Krishna
An Advocate has filed a criminal defamation complaint against religious preacher Dhirendra Krishna Shastri in an Agra court over his alleged remarks about Lord Krishna during a religious discourse in Madhya Pradesh.
Filed by Advocate Ajay Pratap Singh, the complaint alleged that Shastri's remarks are derogatory and they hurt the religious sentiments and also damage the social standing of the descendants of Lord Krishna.
According to a PTI report, the complaint alleges that Shastri made the controversial remarks while comparing the physical postures of Lord Ram and Lord Krishna during a Ram Katha in Karera, Shivpuri district.
As per the complaint, Shastri allegedly said, “Those who follow Krishna might feel bad, but Krishna is very crooked. Even when he stands, he is bent at three places.”
The complainant has further claimed that he is a descendant of Lord Krishna through his maternal side and therefore, Shastri's remarks had harmed his social reputation.
The complaint mentions historical references to communities including the Jadoons, Jadejas and Bhatis.
The complaint, filed on November 4, came up for a preliminary hearing before Civil Judge Kanchan Kumar. The court has registered the case and fixed December 14 as the next date of hearing.
