The Gujarat High Court has been closed until July 10, 2020, after six staff members from the HC Registry and one Police constable from the Vigilance Department, tested positive for Covid-19.

Through a Circular dated July 7, 2020, it is intimated,

"The entire premises of the High Court be shut down for three days starting from Wednesday, 8 July to Friday, 10 July 2020…

The Judicial functioning of the High Court will remain suspended during the above period."

The decision has been taken to enable the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to carry out a "thorough and comprehensive" exercise for cleaning and sanitizing the entire premises of the High Court, Judicial Academy and Auditorium, including inside of the buildings such as chambers, offices, record rooms, wash rooms, etc. during this period.

The High Court is conducting Covid testing for every individual who had entered the Court premises in the preceding two weeks.
