Last National Lok Adalat Of 2025 In Gujarat Disposes Off Over 5 Lakh Cases, Awards ₹1379 Crore

The last National Lok Adalat of 2025 was organized on December 13 across Gujarat under the aegis of National Legal Service Authority (NALSA), which disposed off over 5 Lakh cases and passed awards amounting to Rs. 1379.6 Crores. 

Gujarat High Court Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal who is also the Patron-in-Chief of Gujarat State Legal Service Authority (GSLSA) and Senior Most High Court Judge Justice A. Y. Kogie provided detailed guidance to all District Legal Service Authorities and Taluka Legal Service Committees to make sure that maximum parties get benefit of Lok Adalat.

A press release issued by the GSLSA states that 602678 cases in the categories of Motor Accident Compensation cases, Civil Suits, Negotiable Instrument Act Cheque return Complaint, Matrimonial Disputes, Industrial Disputes etc., pending before various courts in the state were taken up for settlement out of which 5,02,287 cases were disposed of and award of Rs. 1379.6 Crores was passed.

The important facet of Alternative Dispute Resolution-Pre litigation Lok Adalat is slowly is picking up momentum in the state as 6,25,645 pre litigation cases were settled for Rs 114.12 Crores.

A total of 5,70,834 Traffic E Challan cases were settled during Lok Adalat for settlement of Rs. 42.34 Crore.

This Lok Adalat has also saw disposal of 3440 number of pending matrimonial disputes.

In short 5,02,287 cases which were pending across the state have been disposed off reducing the pendency considerably and award of Rs. 1379.6 Crores was passed.
