The Office of the Advocate General, Jharkhand High Court, inaugurated a lecture series in memory of the Late Pralay Kumar Sinha, a distinguished Senior Advocate on April 26, 2024.

State Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan initiated the series, with esteemed High Court advocates and government representatives in attendance. The inaugural session of the 'Late Pralay Kumar Sinha Memorial Lecture Series' took place at the AG Office Conference Hall, Jharkhand High Court.

Keynote speakers for the inaugural session were PD Agarwal and Jitendra S. Singh. The event saw participation from law officers, public prosecutors, associate counsels, and numerous other legal practitioners.

The objective of this series is to enrich legal knowledge within the legal community. Notably, each session, scheduled biweekly, will delve into various legal topics. The first session focused on "Seizure and Confiscation under the Mineral Laws."

Pralay Kumar Sinha, a respected figure in the legal fraternity, passed away on February 19, 2023. Hailing from Raipur, West Bengal, he belonged to the illustrious Sinha family, renowned for donating the land on which Shanti Niketan University stands today. Known for his unwavering commitment to legal ethics and public morality, Sinha was a stalwart of the legal profession. He commenced his practice in Patna in 1967 and later settled in Ranchi in 1976.

In addition to his legal prowess, Sinha was remembered for his generosity and devotion to the Ramakrishna Mission. A master of civil and constitutional law, he mentored many in the legal community and upheld the dignity of the profession throughout his career.

The memorial lecture series stands as a testament to Sinha's legacy, aiming to perpetuate his values and contributions to the legal field.
