The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, under the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, has approved the appointment of Justice A.P. Sahi as the President of the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), for a period of four years or until he reaches the age of 70, whichever comes first.

He is a former Chief Justice of the High Courts of Madras and Patna.

Additionally, the Appointments Committee has also approved the appointment of three Members to the NCDRC.

The newly appointed Members include Shri Bharatkumar Pandya, a retired IRS officer and former Insurance Ombudsman, Mumbai; Dr. Sadhna Shanker, IRS officer who served as the Principal Director General of Income Tax, CBDT, New Delhi; and Air Vice Marshal Jonnalagadda Rajendra, a retired officer who previously served as the Judge Advocate General of the Air Force.

The Members will serve in the NCDRC for a period of four years or until they reach the age of 67, whichever comes earlier.
