'Integral Part Of Judicial System': Justice Rajan Roy Lauds Legal Reporters's Role At Oudh Bar Association Felicitation Event

Recognising the vital bridge between the judiciary and the public, the Oudh Bar Association (OBA), High Court, Lucknow, organised a grand felicitation ceremony today to honour its esteemed members and others who are working as legal reporters/journalists.

The event, held at 1:15 PM at the Chitra-Vithika (Picture Gallery) within the Oudh Bar Association Premises, celebrated the unparalleled diligence and indomitable courage of advocate-journalists who disseminate the Court orders and essential OBA news to the masses.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of Justice Rajan Roy, Senior Judge of the Lucknow Bench, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, Justice Roy congratulated the Oudh Bar Association for undertaking this unprecedented initiative to honour legal reporters.

Highlighting their significance, he remarked, "Legal correspondents are to be commended for fearlessly and positively conveying the truth, along with the decisions and directives of the courts, to the general public. They hold a highly significant and integral role within our judicial system".

The program was presided over by the President of the Oudh Bar Association, Pt. S. Chandra. In his presidential address, he extended his heartfelt congratulations to the honourees and issued a rallying call.

He urged the legal correspondents to play a pivotal role in the Oudh Bar Association's ongoing struggle to protect and assert its territorial jurisdiction.

The event was smoothly conducted by OBA General Secretary Lalit Kishore Tiwari. In his address, Tiwari emphasized the dual responsibilities shouldered by the honoured members.

"Along with their regular legal practice, legal correspondents play a paramount role in bringing court verdicts to the common advocates and the general public”, he stated. “It is in recognition of this vital contribution that the OBA executive committee decided to honour them today. We are hopeful that they will continue to play an instrumental role in establishing justice within society".

The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Senior Vice President Dr Shailendra Sharma 'Atal', who expressed gratitude to all the guests present and invited them to refreshments.

A total of 17 legal journalists were honoured during the ceremony, including Ritika Singh 'Sisodiya', Chandan Srivastava, Yogesh Somvanshi, Vinay Kumar Singh, Manoj Kumar Singh, Ajay Kumar Singh, Dharmendra Kumar Sharma, Pramod Kumar Srivastava, Rajat Ranjan Singh, Sparsh Upadhyay, Santosh Shukla, Vishwas Shukla, Janardan Singh, Umesh Verma, Desh Deepak Singh, Mohd. Shamim and Ravi Singh 'Sisodiya'.

The event saw active cooperation from the OBA's executive committee, including Vice Presidents Hari Om Pandey, Pawan Kumar Singh, and Raghvendra Pandey; Joint Secretaries Gaurav Srivastava, Angad Prasad Shukla, and Ashutosh Singh; Treasurer Alok Kumar Tripathi; and Senior and Junior Members of the Governing Council.
