The Karnataka High Court on Friday dismissed a Public Interest Litigation filed seeking to stay the release of the Hindi Film Good Newwz.

A division bench of Chief Justice Abhay Oka and Justice Hemant Chandangoudar while dismissing the petition filed by Mir Sameena Raza, President of Yes Trust said "It is difficult to accept that any couple choosing IVF centre, which is a serious business, will be influenced by one movie having a short life."

The petition sought directions to the maker of the movie to give a declaration that the content of the movie does not undermine the dignity of other IVF Centres, other than the one shown in the film. The advocate argued before the court that "The film undermines other IVF centres and also of undermines the dignity of those couples who have taken treatments at other centres."

The bench while dismissing the plea said "Averments indicate that the petition represents the cause of other IVF centres. Apart from the right available to producers and directors under Article 19 of the Constitution Of India, any couple will not form its opinion about an IVF centre based on one movie."
