Advocate Muraleedharan G. Nominated As Kerala Bar Council Chairperson; Santhosh Kumar P. As BCI Representative

Advocate Muraleedharan G. has been nominated as the Chairman of the 13th Bar Council of Kerala (BCK).

Advocate Santhosh Kumar P. has been nominated from among BCK members as representative to the Bar Council of India (BCI).

Advocate Muraleedharan secured 14 votes and defeated Advocate Nasseer K.K. by 3 votes. Advocate K.P. Jayachandran (12 votes) was defeated by Advocate Santhosh Kumar by 2 votes. The total number of members in the BCK is 25.

Recently, Senior Advocate Sumathy Dandapani and Advocate Girija K. Gopal were nominated by the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court to be co-opted into the BCK.

Following this, BCK and BCI member Advocate N. Manoj Kumar wrote to the Chief Justice objecting to the co-option of Advocate Girija and called the nomination a decision against the majority.
