Goa Court Grants Bail To Luthra Brothers In NOC Forgery Case Linked To Nightclub Licence

A Magistrate Court in Goa today granted bail to Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra in a case pertaining to alleged forging of an NOC to fraudulently obtain the excise licence for serving liquor in their Birch By Romeo Lane, a prominent nightclub in North Goa's Arpora area.

Advocate Tushan Rawal appearing for Luthra brothers confirmed the development, 

The duo will now be released from Colvale Central Jail, Goa.

A detailed copy of the order is yet to be made available.

Notably, the Luthra brothers were last week granted regular bail in the tragic fire incident in their nightclub.

It would not be out of place to mention that a massive fire had broken out at the nightclub, killing 25 people, of which 20 were the staff members of the said nightclub and 5 were tourists. The massive fire also left several injured. Soon after the incident, the Luthra brothers had fled to Thailand. The Interpol had issued a Blue Notice against the Luthras to track their whereabouts and they were subsequently deported back to India. Thereafter, the duo was arrested.

In that case, they were granted bail last week.

Today, the Magistrate granted them bail in the NOC forgery case wherein the duo are accused of allegedly forging an NOC and signatures of the Health Officer, to fraudulently obtain an excise licence for serving liquor in their nightclub. Besides forgery, they were also booked under charges of criminal conspiracy.

Notably, a sessions court in Mapusa had refused to grant them pre-arrest bail on March 27.

Advocates Vaibhav Suri and Saud Khan and were instructed by SKRB Law Office for the Luthra brothers.
