Youtuber Savukku Shankar on Thursday appeared before the Madras High Court (Madurai Bench) in the contempt case against him and said that he stood by his statement that the entire judiciary is riddled with corruption. He made the submission before a bench of Justice GR Swaminathan and Justice B Pugalendhi.

The case has been adjourned to September 8 after Shankar sought time to file counter.

The court had initiated suo moto contempt proceedings against Shankar after he made the above remarks in an YouTube interview with Redpix Channel.

Another suo moto contempt proceedings was also initiated against Shankar for his remarks against Justice GR Swaminathan wherein he alleged that the Judge was influenced by certain groups while passing orders in favour of another youtuber Maridhas.

Last week, the Madras bench had also restrained Shankar from making statements against minister Senthil Balaji. The minister had moved the court after Shankar made defamatory statements against him in different interviews.
