Malappuram District Legal Service Authority Ranked As Best Performing DLSA In Kerala

Malappuram District Legal Service Authority has been ranked the best performing legal service authority in the State in 2024-25. The achievement has been announced at the Annual meeting of the Kerala Legal Service Authority (KELSA) held in Kerala High Court Auditorium on Friday. 

Mr. K Sanil Kumar, Chairman DLSA and Principal District & Session Judge and Mr. Shabin Ibrahim, Secretary DLSA and Senior Division Civil Judge received the award from Chief Justice Nitin Jamdar. Justice A Muhamed Mustaque, KELSA Executive Chairman, Anil Bhaskar, KELSA, member Secretary were also present. 

Malapuram District received the award for effectively implementing wide range of schemes over the past year. In 2023-24, Malappuram was ranked third in the State. 

Foremost undertaking by the DLSA has been its effort to provide legal aid to tribal and other marginalised communities in the District. They have also focused on providing legal aid to women, children senior citizens and persons with disabilities. 

Special attention has been given to the timely implementation of all the projects envisaged by the national and State Legal services authorities. 

The DLSA has also implemented the 'SAMVADA' a student focused initiative intended to focus on civic sense and gives an opportunity to view Court procedures for students from High School and Higher Secondary. 

The District Mediation Centre at Manjeri received the award for resolving the highest number of cases in the 'Mediation for Nation' campaign. 

Kottayam and Thrissur DLSAs has been placed second and third best performing DLSA.
