The Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (MPSLSA) on April 1, 2026 flagged off 51 “Nyay Sarthi” Mobile Legal Aid Clinic vehicles across the State in a ceremony held at the High Court of Madhya Pradesh, Jabalpur.

The vehicles were flagged off by Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh and Patron-in-Chief of MPSLSA, in the presence of Justice Vivek Rusia, Administrative Judge and Executive Chairman, MPSLSA, along with Companion Judges of the High Court.

The initiative has been undertaken to strengthen access to justice by ensuring the effective outreach of legal services to remote, rural, tribal, and underprivileged areas across Madhya Pradesh.

A total of 51 Mobile Legal Aid Clinic vehicles have been provided, one for each District Legal Services Authority. These Bolero Neo model vehicles will facilitate the delivery of legal aid and awareness services to villages, panchayats, and households in remote regions.

Through these mobile clinics, eligible beneficiaries will be informed about the availability of free legal aid and services. Awareness will be created among women, children, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, prisoners, and economically weaker sections regarding their legal and constitutional rights.

The initiative will also enable pre-litigation counselling, legal advice, mediation, and Lok Adalat awareness at the community level. Para Legal Volunteers will undertake field visits, organise legal awareness programmes, and assist beneficiaries, while community mediation will be promoted for amicable dispute resolution. Information regarding government welfare schemes and legal services initiatives will also be disseminated.

On the occasion, vehicles for Gram Nyayalayas, established under the Gram Nyayalayas Act, 2008, were also flagged off. These Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara model vehicles are intended to strengthen the functioning of Gram Nyayalayas by improving judicial mobility and accessibility in rural and semi-urban areas.

Additionally, vehicles were flagged off for Family Courts and the Courts of Chief Judicial Magistrates across the State. These Maruti Suzuki XL6 model vehicles are aimed at enhancing judicial administration, facilitating efficient discharge of duties, and ensuring better coordination.

The ceremony was attended by Dharminder Singh, Registrar General of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh; Umesh Pandav, Director, Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy; Suman Shrivastava, Member Secretary, MPSLSA; along with officers, officials, and staff of the High Court, Judicial Academy, and State Legal Services Authority.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening last-mile delivery of legal services and expanding access to justice across all districts of Madhya Pradesh.
