In the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nashik BPO sexual harassment and religious coercion case, a sessions court in Nashik on Monday (July 6) granted bail to one of the accused Nida Khan. She was arrested on May 8.
Additional Sessions Judge Kedar Joshi had heard the arguments put forth by Khan's legal counsel advocate Rahul kasliwal and also the special public prosecutor Ajay Misar, who made submissions on behalf of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) opposing Khan's plea.
Confirming the development, Misar, said, "The judge pronounced the order today and allowed her bail plea. A detailed copy of the order would be made available later. One of the main grounds on which bail was sought was her pregnancy."
Notably, among several other grounds that she raised before the court seeking bail, she highlighted the ground that she is pregnant.
The arrested accused are- Mohammad Danish Sheikh (booked for allegedly luring a victim under the false promise of marriage and pressured others into religious practices), Shafi Bikhan Sheikh, Raza Rafiq Memon (team leader accused of intimidating staff and making obscene remarks about female colleagues), Tausif Attar, Shahrukh Qureshi, and Asif Aftab Ansari (Senior employees implicated in various FIRs for alleged stalking, harassment, and forced religious conversion attempts.)
The police also arrested Ashwini Chainani, an Operations Manager of the POSH Committee, for alleged failure to address harassment complaints.
